Power window motors are involved in the everyday use of a vehicle. Throughout its lifetime, a motor is subjected to extreme conditions in harsh environments. NAPA® Echlin® designs quality units that begin with a comparison to the OE as a baseline for fit, form, and function. All connectors are an exact match to the OE motor to ensure an easy replacement.
Motors go through six tests in the in-house research and development lab before they are released to the market. The durability test alone runs 24 hours a day for 4 days. This is the equivalent of the window opening and closing 5 times a day for 7 years!
There is an added circuit breaker on every motor NAPA® Echlin® offers which will shut the motor down after a continuous operation of approximately 14 seconds. This reduces the possibility of serious injury due to continuous pressure from the window, prevents motor burnout, and reduces costly repairs.

Smart motors were first introduced in the mid to late 90s and interface with the BCM. Smart motors are able to raise the windows if rain is detected or roll down the windows if carbon monoxide is detected. Smart motors also allow auto up/down function and anti-pinch features that stop for obstructions. On some frameless windows with smart motor technology, the motor lowers the windows a fraction of an inch when the door is opened and raises the windows when the door has shut to prevent cabin pressure build up.
Power window motors are involved in the everyday use of a vehicle. Throughout its lifetime, it is subjected to extreme conditions in harsh environments. For this reason, NAPA® Echlin® designs quality units that begin with a comparison to the OE as a baseline for fit, form, and function. Field research uncovers unique improvement opportunities that eliminate known inherent weaknesses.
